JEWELRY CARE GUIDE

How to Care for Your Verameat

(So it ages like a hot vampire, not a forgotten spoon)

Jewelry is meant to be worn, loved, lived in. That said… metals have feelings. Treat them kindly and they’ll stay cute for a long time.

The Golden Rules

  • Jewelry goes on after lotion, perfume, sunscreen, body oil, spell casting, etc.

  • Take it off before showering, swimming, or doing anything overly athletic or chaotic.

  • Store pieces dry and separately when they’re not being worn.

If you ignore all of this… it won’t explode. It’ll just age faster. Your call.

PLEASE DO NOT SWIM IN SALTWATER

(unless you want ✨mermaid-core✨ jewelry)

Saltwater + jewelry = accelerated patina.

That shiny gold tone may turn more… sea witch artifact than intended.
Some people love that look! If you don’t, remove jewelry before oceans, pools, hot tubs, lakes, tears of enemies, etc.

About Our Materials

Sterling Silver

Real silver can darken over time. That’s normal. It’s not mad at you.

To keep it bright:

  • Wear it often (your skin helps polish it)

  • Use a silver polishing cloth

  • Store in a pouch when not in use

✨ Darkened silver usually comes right back with a quick polish.

Gold-Plated Jewelry

(14k gold over high-quality brass)

Our gold-plated pieces have a richer, more yellow gold tone thanks to the 14k plating.

Over time (especially on rings), plating can naturally wear and reveal the brass underneath. Brass has a softer, 10k-style gold warmth, which many people love.

This is normal wear, not a flaw.

To keep plating looking fresh longer:

  • Avoid water, lotion, and perfume

  • Take it off before bed or workouts

  • Store separately to prevent rubbing

Brass Jewelry

Brass is a living metal. It changes. It develops character.

It may darken, patina, or react slightly with skin. If it leaves a green tint, don’t panic. It’s harmless and washes off with soap and water.

WANT DARKER, MOODY, ANTIQUE-LOOKING JEWELRY?

The Boiled Egg Oxidizing Trick 🥚

Yes, this is real. Yes, it works.

How to do it:

  1. Hard-boil an egg

  2. Peel it and mash it slightly

  3. Place your silver or brass jewelry and the egg together in an airtight container

  4. Leave it overnight (fridge or counter)

  5. Check in the morning...darker jewelry achieved

Do NOT let jewelry touch the egg directly if you want even oxidation
This is best for silver or brass, not plated pieces

Congratulations, you are now a jewelry witch.

Stones & Sculptural Details

  • Don’t soak them

  • Don’t scrub aggressively

  • Treat them like tiny art objects, because they are

Storage Tips

  • Keep jewelry dry

  • Store pieces separately

  • Anti-tarnish pouch = we love her

Final Thoughts

Jewelry is meant to change with you. Slight darkening, softening of shine, and patina are part of the story, especially for rings.
